How Escrow Protects Both the Buyer and the Seller
Escrow is usually explained as buyer protection. It does at least as much for honest sellers — here is the mechanism, step by step.

The classic used-phone transaction in Pakistan is a cash meeting in a car park. Both sides are exposed: the buyer can be handed a swapped or faulty device, and the seller can be robbed, paid in counterfeit notes, or accused of misrepresentation after the fact.
How MobileMart escrow works
- The buyer pays. The money goes to MobileMart, not to the seller.
- The seller ships the device to our inspection centre, with a tracking code recorded against the order.
- An independent tester inspects the device against a fixed checklist and publishes the report on the order.
- If it matches the listing, we ship it to the buyer. If it does not, the order is rejected and the buyer is refunded.
- The buyer confirms delivery, and only then is payment released to the seller.
Why sellers benefit too
An honest seller's biggest problem is being indistinguishable from a dishonest one. Escrow plus a published inspection report converts "trust me" into evidence, which is why escrow-backed listings sell faster and hold their price. It also ends post-sale disputes: the inspection report is a neutral, timestamped record of the device's condition when it left your hands.
What it costs
A commission on completed sales only. Nothing is charged on listings that do not sell.
